Rules

  • Contest is open to all interested modelers.  All entries must be built solely by the entrant.
  • Winning (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Best-Of) entries in prior NCWVSM shows are not eledgeable.
  • All entries must be in place by 1:00 P.M. and remain in place until the conclusion of the awards ceremony, to follow immediately after the judging.
  • Awards will be presented for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category.
  • All Category placements are at the discretion of the head judge, whose decision is final.
  • Categories may be added, deleted and/or combined at the discretion of the head judge, depending on the number of entries.
  • Juniors are permitted to compete in adult categories if they so desire.
  • All Pre-Finished Models with Manufacturer painted bodies, must compete in Class 32.
  • Any additional documentation, spec. cards and construction photos are welcome and encouraged.
  • Display bases that show additional detail of the entree are allowed but will not be used as a judging factor except in the diorama categories.
  • Dust covers must be removed prior to judging unless permission from the Head Judge is granted due to safety concerns.
  • Judging will begin promptly at 1:15 P.M. All entries must be in place at this time.
  • The display area will be OPEN during judging. Please allow the Judging Teams to do their job.
  • Models will be judged as they are displayed. Judges will not handle models. If placement in a different category is necessary, the entrant will be located.
  • Entries in the Box Stock class must be accompanied with the kit instructions.  Entries shall be constructed solely from the contents of the kit. Only paint, foil and decals, from other sources are allowed.   Kit imperfections (sink holes, molding flaws, etc.) may be corrected.
  • Judging will be based upon building techniques, attention to detail, realism, accuracy and overall workmanship.
  • The judges decisions are final.
  • NCWVSM members are not permitted to Compete in MODCON 2K.

Directions: Get off I-68 at Exit 1; this exit will take
you to University Avenue/Route 119. Turn left at the
intersection and follow the signs to the Ramada Inn.

Vendor Information


Tables:

  • Approx. 75 Vendor tables are available.
  • All tables are 6'-0" long and are furnished with table cloths.
  • Cost per table is $12.00.
  • If payment is not received by 3 days prior to the event, tables will not be held.
  • Request for specific table locations will be made on a first come-first serve basis.

Setup:

  • Vendor setup begins at 8:00 A.M. Saturday.
  • Entry for vendors via rear doors. A cargo elevator is available for easy access to the vendor area. NCWVSM members will gladly help all vendors in the loading and unloading of merchandise.
  • Doors open to the public at 10:00 A.M.

Sales Tax:

  • Vendors should be prepared to collect sales tax when required. WV sales tax is 6%.

Take Down:

  • Take down shall begin at 3:30 P.M.
